Mom diagnosed w/ Mycobacterium Chelonae/Abscessus - 2010/01/12 14:57
My mom finally got her diagnosis as Mycobacterium Chelonae/Abscessus. Hers involes the lung, not the skin and most articles refer to skin. I do know that unlike my MAI, it is a fast growing bacteria. I searched for this strain on the message board but did not have much luck. Can anyone help me find more information? I tried to look it up on NTM's message board, but can't access it for some reason. She will set an appointment with an ID Dr. as soon as she can. Thanks in advance for any input.
